Membership Types are used throughout the application once they are defined and assigned to your members. Some common uses of Membership Type:
- Reports may be viewed/generated by Membership Type
- Communication may be sent/created by Membership Type
- Event invitations may be sent by Membership Type
Use Cases:
- Use your membership types to differentiate between the membership packages that you offer. You can even display the membership type of a member in the directory
- As a way to track "alternate" status information. The database allows you to select from preset statuses. The statuses drive logic in the database can't be changed nor can you add additional statuses. You can, however, use the membership type field to qualify why a member is in a certain status.
- Example: You have a non-member in your database and they are such because they are an exhibitor for an event. You could use a status called 'Exhibitor' to explain why the member exists in your database.
