Why are we receiving spam applications?

Spam submissions on online forms—including membership applications—have become increasingly common due to a rise in automated bots and fraudulent attempts to access business directories or gather backlinks for SEO manipulation.

There are "known spammers" who fill out online membership applications. You'll be able to tell because they are outside your area; don't pay when joining; and a lot of CBD names, etc. Your online membership application is a public form, so we cannot prevent this.

Some of the names we've identified: Area 52, Gold Bee, Gold Bee CBD, Royal CBD, LocalProBook, Cafely, and Kratom.

What should I do with spam applications?

If your chamber has received any of these, we recommend deleting the member record from ChamberMaster to avoid cluttering your database.
