GrowthZone works with Stripe for GrowthZone Pay integrated payment processor. Stripe requires all this information so we can remain compliant with the Know Your Customer guidelines (since we are in the US). They need this information to ensure that you are tied to the company that you are opening the account for to ensure that it is not fraudulent. You will be the one to enter the information and no one will be able to see it. It is fully encrypted so we can’t see your information, stripe can’t, and no one in your chamber can. The website is secure, just like a bank’s website, H&R Block, or any other company with which you provide this information.

Stripe is required to collect, verify, and maintain information on the individuals associated with each Stripe account. These requirements come from our regulators and financial partners and include the implementation of the FinCEN Customer Due Diligence rule, which requires the identification of those individuals with control over an account (also known as beneficial owners). These requirements are intended to prevent individuals from using complex schemes to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes.
One of the primary reasons we can get users up and running so quickly is our unique registration process. We use an individual's information like date of birth and SSN to programmatically verify their identity so they can start accepting payments immediately.
I know that it can be concerning having to give personal information online, but I can assure you that we take security very seriously here at Stripe. As a payment processor, security is our top priority! Our Privacy Policy explains why we need this information, what we do with it, and how we safeguard it:

You can try to contact Stripe based on your current account and ask why a connected account needs personal information.
CANADIAN Customers must comply as well: With that said, even though they will be your connected users, they are still required to verify their Stripe account including the individuals who own the account.
